The gMS®Dx test increases the ability to make an accurate diagnosis as early as possible, an important aspect for patient management, counseling, and optimal therapy.
The gMS®Dx “rule in” blood test can be performed as part of the MS diagnostic work-up. We recommend the gMS®Dx test for patients for which an MS diagnosis has not yet been confirmed:
1. If a patient has clinical, laboratory, and imaging features that are “classic” for MS and where no features strongly suggest an alternative diagnosis.
2. If a patient has features that are compatible with MS, but occur in the presence of other features that suggest a possible alternative diagnosis.
3. If a patient has less common CIS features which may be seen in MS.
Numerous clinical studies have shown that 90% of neurological patients that are positive for the gMS®Dx test were diagnosed with RRMS. Thus, gMS®Dx is a “rule in” test for RRMS, which is usefully applied when confirming an RRMS diagnosis suggested by diagnostic work-up.
