DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team as a key player in managing and optimizing our growing infrastructure. You will own the entire DevOps lifecycle, from designing scalable infrastructure to implementing automation for improved efficiency, reliability, and security. You will also ensure compliance with the stringent standards required by our parent company’s ISO certifications.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure, leading the phase-out of our current Digital Ocean environment.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and other tools.
  • Optimize our cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including compliance with ISO certifications for Security (ISO 27001), Privacy (ISO 27701), and Business Continuity (ISO 22301).
  • Work closely with the CTO to define the roadmap for infrastructure improvements and help guide the company through rapid scaling.
  • Automate routine tasks to enhance developer productivity and minimize manual intervention.
  • Monitor system performance using tools like DataDog and Honeybadger, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring high availability.
  • Collaborate across teams to understand deployment needs and optimize release processes.

 

What we expect:

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, ideally within a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Terraform and Ansible
  • Strong expertise with AWS cloud services, Docker, and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Experience managing infrastructure in a security-conscious environment, preferably with ISO or similar certifications.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as DataDog, logging tools like Honeybadger, and security tools such as Haltdos WAF and Cloudflare.
  • Ability to work independently while also being highly collaborative within a remote team setting, with the capability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Adaptability, problem-solving, and an automation mindset – ideally with a track record of introducing improvements that deliver practical results for the business.
  • Knowledge of AI-related infrastructure, including services like OpenAI, Claude, and Mistral will be considered a plus.
  • Prior experience in supporting compliance efforts, including ISO standards is nice to have.
