As Regional Director MEA, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth and strengthening GMS presence across the Middle East and Africa. Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, you will focus on developing strategic client relationships, executing regional commercial priorities, and ensuring sustainable business growth across the region.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role combining direct sales engagement, regional ownership, team coordination, and accountability for business performance.

 

Please note: only candidates with proven telecom and messaging sales experience will be considered.

What Will You Do

  • Drive revenue growth and business development across the MEA region.
  • Define and execute regional commercial priorities in alignment with global business objectives.
  • Own the regional sales budget, including forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue delivery.
  • Manage and grow strategic relationships with Mobile Network Operators, enterprises, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Personally engage in high-value commercial opportunities, supporting the sales cycle from prospecting through contract signature.
  • Lead and coordinate a regional team, ensuring focus, alignment, and performance.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the region.
  • Participate in commercial negotiations, supporting sustainable deal structures and long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product, operations, finance) to ensure effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to support regional growth.
  • Represent GMS in client meetings, industry events, and strategic business discussions.

What We Expect

  • 10–15+ years of experience in telecom, messaging, or related industries, with a focus on sales and business development.
  • Proven experience working across MEA markets.
  • Strong understanding of the A2P/P2P/P2A messaging ecosystem and telecom landscape.
  • Established relationships with Mobile Network Operators and key industry stakeholders across the region.
  • Experience owning commercial targets, revenue forecasts, and regional business performance.
  • Experience managing or mentoring small teams.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a hands-on, execution-driven approach.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, and drive business growth across diverse markets.
  • Comfortable balancing client-facing activities, strategic planning, and internal coordination.
  • Solid analytical skills, including forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
  • Advanced English; Arabic and/or French would be a strong advantage.
